SERVICES

Directional Drilling

Straight or curved installations, typically 25mm to 900mm diameter and 10m to 500m in length. Depths typically 1m to 20m, and most ground types are suitable, like Clay, Sand, Silt, Rock and Gravel. Grades of up to 1:200 have been regularly achieved.

Pipe Ramming

Steel Sleeve Installations >150mm, which are then typically lined with a product pipe. Installations are typically <70m length, and diameters up to 1400mm have been installed. Any grade is achievable and most ground types suitable.

Impact Moling

Straight installations, typically for smaller duct sizes like 50,100 and 150mm. Lengths of up to 30m have been achieved, but this method is more suited to 2-15m installations that require relative accuracy.

Design & CAD

Trenchless installation design and feasibility assessments including 2D and 3D layout, profile and configuration drawings using the latest CAD techniques.

Pipe Welding

HDPE and Steel pipe welding, of diameters up to 1400mm. This aspect is often included as part of the trenchless installations package.

Consultation

Assisting with certifications for your National Highways CD 622, River FRA 3 exemption, Railway NR/L2/CIV/044 or runway project. Feasibility studies, geotechnical investigation, surveys, certifications and calculations.

Formed in 2005 by Steve Wilson, and joined by Chris Weatherall in 2008, we at S.W.Directional Drilling Ltd (SWDD), have gone from strength to strength. We have used various trenchless techniques to achieve our client's needs, at an unrivalled completion and success rate of over 99%, despite taking on more complex projects, which would not be considered "the norm".

The company owners take on an active "hands-on" role in designing, planning and installation of all works and are supported by an excellent and highly experienced team. These key factors ensure our installations have the highest quality, safety and chance of success.

Although we install every utility type, we are seen by many as the market leader in trenchless drainage installations and installations of high complexity. We at SWDD pride ourselves on the design and build of solutions which other companies refused to price, failed to install, or deemed impossible.
